Reverend Alexya Salvador is a pioneering advocate for human rights and an inspiring figure in the LGBTQ+ community.

At last year's TRANSBLESSING, the whole team was in tears during Alexya's powerful testimony. Therefore, we are so happy to welcome her back to Transblessing 2024!

Reverend Alexya Salvador is a pioneering advocate for human rights and an inspiring figure in the LGBTQ+ community. She made history in 2015 as the first Brazilian transgender woman to adopt children. Alexya has been married to Roberto for 15 years, and together they are proud parents of three remarkable children: Gabriel, 19, who has special needs; Ana Maria, a transgender teenager; and Dayse, a 13-year-old transgender girl. Reverend Alexya is also distinguished as the first transgender woman to be ordained as clergy in Latin America, serving as a Reverend with the Metropolitan Community Churches of Brazil. A passionate advocate for transgender rights, she tirelessly works to uplift and empower marginalized voices. Alexya is academically accomplished, holding degrees in Letters, Pedagogy, and Theology, and she dedicates her life to promoting equality, compassion, and understanding in every community she touches.
