Mio Kivelä

Like last year, the conference will start with a panel discussion between a couple of young transpeople who work in church in different capacities. They will discuss the good parts of being a Christian transperson, how these two identites have helped them and also answer your questions on the topic!

One of these panelists is Mio!
Mio Kivelä is a Christian transman   (he/him) from Finland  . He has worked around LGBTQIA+ themes for years both within and outside of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland. He has worked as a youth work counselor in local parishes for 10 years. Within that job as well as an entrepreneur he has worked as a consultant, educator and writer around queer themes as well as created several ways to include trans people into the work made within the church context. He has also worked for the Gender Diversity and Intersex Centre of Expertise in Finland. He has just graduated as a Master of Theology and is hoping to become a pastor in the near future.
